Evidence Through Narratives:
Digital Storytelling in California
Stories live at the foundations of our lives. As young children, we learn about who we are through storytelling. As elders, we share our wisdom with younger generations through the spoken word. And as prevention professionals, we have a tool in storytelling that can be incredibly powerful. In an era of social media, technology, and net-based communication, storytelling is everywhere!
Digital Storytelling is a prevention practice that has been found to reduce negative attitudes and stereotypes, encourage others to seek support, and promote community healing and empowerment.
We invite you to explore these digital stories to learn about prevention efforts across California. We hope they inspire you to share your prevention journey in a way that is reflective of your voice, your story, and your local successes.
